Claire Mc Dermott is a London based working-class female artist, her practice-based research describes her concepts as a form of storytelling or as an inspirational reference. McDermott gained a distinction for her MA in Art and Science the Central Saint Martins, UAL and graduated form the School of Art and Humanities at the Royal College of Art with her Thesis titled Happenings, Sightings and A Plumed Seed. 


She has exhibited at Tate Exchange, Watford Museum, Cooke Latham Gallery, Beaconsfield Gallery and South Park Gallery and awarded residencies with SLoAS, AA2A, Sculpture Symposium 2016 and from Cill Rialaig, Ireland.  She was featured with Axis, Phi Magazine, The Pluralist’s, RCA collage magazine and the Earthwise book. She has received in kind support from Port of London Authority, Central Saint Martins, UAL and grants from the Gane Trust, UAL Student Union, and the Arts Council, England..  Her botanical illustrations are held at Cill Rialaig Arts Centre, Ireland, and her public sculpture ‘The Meeting Tree’ is installed at Newton Farm Ecology Park, London.
